Members of this weird Facebook group all pretend to be ants in an ant colony

Generally speaking, Facebook groups exist so people who share interests can connect. That, apparently, includes those who take pleasure in pretending to be ants in an ant colony. No, we’re not kidding.

On April 23, 18-year-old video creator Tyler Sincavage took to TikTok to share his thoughts on the unusual group.

“So over quarantine, I joined this group on Facebook: ‘A group where we all pretend to be ant in an ant colony,'” Sincavage says. “I didn’t really know what to expect even though there’s 1.1 million people in this group.”

Sincavage explains how the group is a “cult” that has “a queen” that members “all hail.” He then shows a sample post where one member posted a rock with the caption “AM STUCK UNDER THE ROCK SEND HELP.”

“Whenever you find a post from another ant, you’re supposed to send help or do something in return,” he says. “So, in return, we all commented ‘LIFT’ to lift the rock from this ant.”

The teenager’s clip immediately went viral on the social media platform, where it has received over 1.3 million views and more than 4,000 comments.

“Bruh I would totally join this,” one person joked.

“I’m in a group where we only say honk,” another added.

The absurd Facebook group was founded in June 2019. It now has over 1.8 million members, thereby reinforcing the fact that the internet will always remain undefeated.

“In this group we are ants,” the group’s description reads. “We worship The Queen and do ant stuff. Welcome to the colony.”
