It’s often said that washing your hair every day is not good hair etiquette —and depending on your hair type, that may be true. But if you’re someone who logs a lot of time on the treadmill, washing your hair frequently may not be something you can escape.

If you love to sweat it out, then dry shampoos can and should be your best friend. They’re designed to absorb all the sweat and oils from your hair, “making it appear cleaner” without the use of water, according to Heathline.

However, not all dry shampoos are created equal. For this reason, Bumble and Bumble created the Pret-a-Powder Post Workout Dry Shampoo Mist. According to the product description, it’s a spray that’s “formulated specifically to clean and refresh sweaty strands.” So, for those who sweat a lot after a gym session, this may be something to tote around in your fitness bag.

Made with white bamboo extract and silica, this lightweight mist also has UV filters to protect your hair against the drying effects of the sun should you take your workout outside. Additionally, it’s free of sulfates, SLS and SLES, parabens, formaldehyde, phthalates and mineral oil.

It also doesn’t hurt that the brand partnered with two superstar athletes — U.S. women’s national team soccer defender Ali Krieger and goalkeeper Ashlyn Harris — to test the product.

With A-list endorsements and a winning formula, reviewers have given the product some high marks. One Sephora buyer who admitted to working out every day said that the dry shampoo was a “game-changer.”

“Dry shampoo alone left my hair dry and clumpy after a few days, but this allows me to keep going without washing my hair for a couple of more days,” they added.

Another reviewer said it was their go-to after riding horses, explaining they saw a “noticeable difference” when they used it. They also reaffirmed the product’s ability to refresh sweaty strands.

“This is not a ‘wake up in the morning and use it’ product,” the buyer wrote. “It is EXACTLY what the name says. If I need dry shampoo in the mornings, I use one of the other Pret products.”

It’s also worth noting that dry shampoo shouldn’t replace washing your hair and that this particular one didn’t work out for everyone. One repeated complaint was that the product had a “heavy smell” due to its alcohol content.
