We all know and love Dyson as the brand that makes high-end appliances like its cult-favorite stick vacuum and chic air purifier that actually works, but the company has also ventured into beauty tools, which first began with the launch of Dyson’s Supersonic Hair Dryer in September 2016. Then in 2018, Dyson released the Airwrap Styler, which quickly sold out and garnered a waitlist of more than 133,000 people, so it’s safe to say the brand’s new products develop a fan-following almost instantly.

Beginning today, you can shop Dyson’s latest venture into the beauty world — enter the Dyson Corrale, the brand’s first-ever cordless hair straightener that’s going to be a hair styling game-changer for beauty gurus and hair stylists.

While there’s already cordless straighteners on the market, Dyson has gone the extra mile with creating its latest beauty tool. After seven years in development (yes, you read that correctly), this straightener is the first and only model that utilizes copper flexible plate technology that is supposed to help reduce heat damage on your hair.

Unlike traditional straighteners, these flexible plates mold to and gather the hair, which allows greater control when styling and fewer passes over your hair. As the plates adapt to the hair, you won’t see the hair splaying out, and you can easier apply tension to each strand. With the straightener having more control of the hair, there’s less reliance on heat for styling.

Made for all hair types, the Dyson Corrale is also one of the fastest straighteners to heat up. I’ve seen it in action, and I can attest that it almost heats up instantly to one of its three heat settings: 330°F, 365°F and 410°F. Since it’s cordless, you can expect the straightener’s power to last anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour depending on your hair type, and after use, you can get a full recharge in just 70 mins. And if you’re one who loves using straighteners to also create different types of curls, the Corrale can handle that, too.

I recently invested in a cord-free curling iron, so I know how much mobility the Dyson Corrale will provide when styling, and it’ll be hard to go back to corded styling tools. While it’s on the pricier side, if you’re ready to invest in a beauty tool that will last, be less damaging for your hair, and can function as both a straightener and a curling iron, it’ll be worth the investment. Right now you can shop the Dyson Corrale at Dyson, Sephora, Ulta or Nordstrom for $499. Happy (cordless) styling.
