Meghan Markle, Prince Harry make first public appearance since royal split

And it's back to work for Meghan and Harry!

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex made their first public appearance since announcing last month that they were stepping back from royal life. It's been reported that the couple attended a private JPMorgan event on Thursday night, which was held at the exclusive 1 Hotel in Miami Beach. They were allegedly flown from Vancouver Aiport on JPMorgan's jet on Wednesday.

First reported by Page Six, the event is said to be the annual JPMorgan AIS, the Alternative Investment Summit, frequently attended by high-profile investors and business-minded celebrities. Gayle King and Robert Kraft were said to be among those in attendance this year.

Buckingham Palace has since confirmed that Prince Harry gave a speech at the event.

"It was all very hush-hush, with a lot of security," said a source to the publication.

Since their announcement in January, Meghan and Harry have been renting a $14 million mansion in North Saanich, on Vancouver Island. The couple has been spotted regularly by Canadian locals on strolls and hikes with their son Archie, 9 months, and their beagle and Labrador.

"They are enjoying living a quiet life," an insider told People. "They go for long walks, they do yoga, and Meghan cooks. They are real homebodies who love to chill out with Archie and the dogs."

This week, it was also reported that the couple was househunting in Los Angeles, where the duchess was raised and where her mother, Doria, continues to reside.

"They love being in Canada, but they are looking at houses in L.A. too," a close friend told People. "They’ll likely have houses in both places."
