Bob Marley is known as arguably the most influential and commonly referenced figure in reggae music and while his legacy lives on through his iconic songs, not much is known about his second passion: farming.

Making the "One Love" crooner's dream a reality, his son Rohan Marley co-founded Marley Coffee, an organic coffee plantation and "sustainable" farming business, in 2009. The business' product is sourced in the Blue Mountains area of Marley's homeland of Jamaica, as well as in Ethiopia. The business has produced a full line of coffee products, including whole bean, ground, single-serve and fraction pack coffees. Two of its most popular, however, remain the Buffalo Solder Ground Coffee and Lively Up Whole Bean Coffee.

On what would have marked Bob Marley's 75th birthday (Feb. 6, 2020), we highlight these two selections from the fair-trade certified brand that are both said to boast "rich-bodied" flavors that are easy to brew at home. Buffalo Soldier is made up of ground beans with hints of dark chocolate, while Lively Up consists of full beans that are roasted with hints of citrus. Each selection can currently be purchased above, with clear instructions detailing how to make the perfect cup being outlined in the description page.

Currently standing as two of shoppers' favorites from the entire six-flavored collection (including one variety pack), Buffalo Soldier and Lively Up have reviewers raving about their robust flavors.

"One of the best coffees I ever drank. Started drinking it as a resident. Will 'wire you up' for the day. Perfect if you like strong coffee," one shopper explained of Lively Up, while another added about Buffalo Soldier, "A ton of flavor as you would expect in a good Dark Roast. Surprising smooth, not bitter, but a nice lingering bold finish."

In addition to being rich in flavor, Marley Coffee is also following its sole inspiration's mission of global unity by partnering with One Tree Planted, a non-profit organization, to support reforestation by planting trees all over the world.
