Mosenfelder caught a break in 1991, when the publicist at the Shoreline Amphitheater (in Mountain View, Calif.) encouraged him to cover the new festival for a local publication. “I was a Deadhead, so this was how my initial introduction to the alternative punk scene started,” notes Mosenfelder. “It was just a type of music that I wasnt familiar with; being introduced to Lollapalooza was career changing for me.”

Tim has shot the festival in both the Bay Area and around Chicago for the past 20 years, capturing the two-decade evolution of artists such as Green Day and Soundgarden. “I remember a woman wrapping a python around herself, dance groups performing rituals, and talking to Perry [Farell] about bungee jumping towards the audience and coming at me at 40 miles per hour.”
