With the end of 2019 nearly a month away and the Thanksgiving holiday weekend upon us, now is as good of a time as ever to appreciate what made this year so special for moviegoers around the world. Sure, box office numbers are down and Martin Scorsese and Marvel will never see eye to eye, but there is still so much movie goodness to be thankful for in 2019. This was a year when Renée Zellweger and Brad Pitt bounced back to remind us their movie star power has not faded one bit, Florence Pugh emerged as the next great leading lady, Scorsese reunited with Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci, and The Criterion Channel launched to make over 1,600 foreign films and Hollywood classics available to stream.
