A new music festival is coming to the grassy grounds of Scottsdale Civic Center on the weekend of Nov. 3-4 with a focus on the sounds of the American West.

The first Dreamy Draw Festival will be topped by Lord Huron and Midland, an amazing band with Tucson roots whose recent set at Country Thunder Arizona was a textbook case of everything you could want a country band to be in 2023.

Other highlights include Margo Price, a country outlier whose first release on Jack White's Third Man Records was recorded in the Memphis studio where Elvis Presley cut his teeth and took its title from a Beach Boys song, and Hailey Whitters, another stunning standout at Country Thunder 2023 in Florence, Arizona.

In addition to performances by such high-profile national artists as Trampled by Turtles and Luke Grimes, Dreamy Draw features a handful of regional acts on the rise, including Evan Honer, Taylor Glasheen and the Senators.

What to expect at Scottsdale Civic Center

Presented by Oh Wow and Spoonful in partnership with Scottsdale Arts, the two-day festival will span three stages on the 40 acres outside Scottsdale Civic Center, which opened in January after a $35 million reconstruction.

Each Dreamy Draw stage will offer intimate spaces to watch the performers while enjoying the comfort of shaded grassy lawns, tree-lined areas and those breathtaking sunsets we've come to expect in Arizona.

The festival site is in the heart of Old Town Scottsdale, providing easy walking access to bars, restaurants and hotels.

In a press release, Gerd Wuestemann, president & CEO of Scottsdale Arts, said, “We’re excited to bring a brand-new festival with a stellar lineup to the Valley, and we’re especially looking forward to hosting it in the beautiful amphitheaters of the newly renovated Scottsdale Civic Center."

Dreamy Draw will honor the frontier sound and history of the West's Most Western Town, as Scottsdale calls itself.

Scottsdale is "intimately tied," Wuestemann added, "to the histories and mythologies of the American West," making this "a perfect location for a new festival of American roots music.”

Dreamy Draw promises "some of the best cuisine this famed region has to offer" from local vendors and a cocktail program developed by up-and-coming artisanal artist Austin Blanchard, delivering "luscious regional specialties."

The festival will take over the Monarch Hotel pool to offer a VIP package that will include private rooms overlooking the festival and access to the artist backstage area.

A percentage of proceeds from Dreamy Draw will be donated to Scottsdale Arts.
