2 Chainz Updates Fans After Miami Car Accident: 'Things Could Have Been Worse — but It Wasn't'

On Saturday, the rapper shared a video from the back of an ambulance on his Instagram Stories

2 Chainz is thankful to be alive after he was involved in a car accident over the weekend.

"This the car that hit us from behind..Praise God for the blessings, Things could have been worse, but it wasn’t," the rapper, 46, wrote on Instagram Monday alongside a photo of a car destroyed from the front.

He added, "Don’t wanna pity party, but i do appreciate every single person that checked up on me, sometimes someone in my position don’t feel like the love real or maybe it’s mind thing, but I truly felt the love and don’t worry bout me, I’m good, shake back king."

In the second slide, 2 Chainz shared a video of himself walking toward the entrance of a jet with his hospital bracelet on.

The update comes after 2 Chainz shared a video on a stretcher to his Instagram Stories Saturday.

The "We Own It" rapper, whose real name is Tauheed Epps, was seen being assisted by a firefighter in the clip, as he zoomed in on what appeared to be his vehicle severely damaged on the side of a highway. He was in Miami for Art Basel at the time of the crash.

A Florida Highway Patrol spokesperson told PEOPLE that the vehicles involved in the incident were a 2016 Mercedes, a 2013 Nissan and a 2010 Toyota. They added that there were no fatalities and at least one adult male was transported to an area hospital.

After 2 Chainz posted about the crash on his Instagram Story, TMZ, which was first to report the news, said that the rapper was in stable condition.

According to the outlet, which cited sources, 2 Chainz was struck on I-95 before exiting the highway. Police suspect that the other driver may have been under the influence.

2 Chainz was reportedly leaving the local strip club Booby Trap at the time of the incident, per TMZ.

Before the car crash, 2 Chainz had been in Miami promoting his new collaborative album with Lil WayneWelcome 2 Collegrove, a follow-up to 2016's ColleGrove. 

The rapper took part in an album visual screening Thursday night as part of Art Basel.
