I always love it when celebrities go all out for the press of their movies. When actors really immerse themselves and decide to dress on theme for their characters and movies for months, it can give us some amazing and memorable fashion moments.

So, let's talk about some actors who have gone the extra mile and paid tribute to their starring roles and movies through fashion:
1. Margot Robbie — Barbie in Barbie

In 2014, Elle Fanning attended the Maleficent premiere in a gorgeous Elie Saab couture gown that was stunningly inspired by Princess Aurora's iconic blue (and sometimes pink) gown.

Nothing hurts more than seeing Scar Jo wear the very stone that ended her character Black Widow's life, but the accessory was killer. At the Avengers: Endgame premiere in 2019, Scarlett wore a Versace dress accompanied by a custom hand piece designed by Sonia Boyajian. Sonia was approached by Scarlett's husband , Colin Jost, who wanted to remake the infinity gauntlet (a glove that holds various colored universe-ending stones, famously used by a Marvel villain named Thanos) for Scarlett as a gift. Sonia made it happen, and it is absolutely iconic.

A total vision in couture Christian Dior . Jennifer went the very literal route and took the Mother! red carpet by storm as her character. She even went as far as having flowers in her hair, which perfectly assisted in creating the exact vision from her character poster.

This was just so, so good. Zendaya absolutely killed this Dr. Otto Octavius (Dr. Octopus) reference. While she plays MJ in the movies, this look came around while we were anticipating the return of our favorites in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Even though this wasn't even an event for the movie (it was the 2021 Ballon d'Or ceremony, which is an event that recognizes the best football players in the world), she was still giving us Spider-Man ! This reworked Roberto Cavalli vintage gown from the autumn/winter 2000 collection included a back/spinal piece that perfectly replicated Dr. Ock's lethal tentacles.

Everyone say, "Thank you, Donatella Versace!" Angelina stepped onto the red carpet for Maleficent: Mistress of Evil in 2019 in a custom Versace gown and a gorgeous diamond-encrusted scorpion brooch on her hip. While it may not be a direct reference, Angelina definitely made her character proud in her all-black ensemble that's accompanied by the venomous and deadly creature covered in diamonds and ready to sting.

Timothée gave us look after look on this Wonka promotional tour, and while most of them involve him being shirtless, he still didn't miss. This is definitely one of my favorites, though. He's wearing a spring/summer 2024 Tom Ford suit that was pulled from the women's collection. I thought it couldn't get more amazing. Well, the kid has on CUSTOM Cartier; according to British Vogue , it has 964 emeralds, rubellites, pink tourmalines, and blue opals. It also has a white gold base consisting of nearly 1,000 precious stones. The piece also took a smooth 450 hours to make.

When Emma attended a special screening of Beauty and the Beast for the New York Film Society for Kids, she gave us a nod to Belle's most iconic look. Emma took the stage beautifully in a custom Dior gown crafted completely from certified organic silk.

Brie completely demolished this look. Her reference is so subtle, yet it totally makes the dress. At the world premiere of Captain Marvel in 2019, Brie stepped out in a custom Rodarte gown . While it's clearly not giving Carol Danvers on the surface, if you look closely at the detailing of the dress, you can tell it's completely embroidered with Captain Marvel's eight-pointed star.

Yes, yes, and yes. Make red carpets for children's movies fun again. Anya decided to pay direct honor to her iconic character, Princess Peach, by showing up to the 2023 Mario Bros. Movie red carpet dressed amazingly to theme. She decided on this dollish Christian Dior pink jumpsuit and even gave us Peach's cute little boots!

While not a direct interpretation, the decision to wear this modern-day, 16th-century-esque Carolina Herrera gown to the 2018 premiere of Mary Queen of Scots was a genius one. The high neck, the sleeves, the ruffles — it was just a great nod to the film and her character's time period.

For the 2022 premiere of The Batman , Zoë Kravitz, who plays Selina Kyle, aka Catwoman, showed up in this adorable custom black velvet lace-up gown from Oscar de la Renta . The best part, though, is obviously the two little black cat silhouettes, and they're such a phenomenal nod to her role.

I especially love this because this outfit of Princess Jasmine's doesn't always get the credit it deserves. Naomi decided to pay tribute to her animated character by attending the 2019 Aladdin premiere in a Burberry gown by Riccardo Tisci .

Back in 2018, Amber took to the Aquaman premiere in this nod to her sea queen character, Mera. Giving us the algae green and the illusion of scales was great. The gown from Valentino's 2018 haute couture collection was accompanied by a matching couture bathing cap.

In 2021, Carrie-Anne Moss walked this Matrix Resurrections green carpet in a dress that went beyond recognizing her character, but recognizing the entire franchise for one of its most notable effects. She went for a sheer black gown from Oscar de la Renta . The once-plain dress was altered with very intricate embellishments and sequins that give it the "digital rain" look. The detailing is so intricate that Oscar's name is actually embroidered over and over again between the embellishments.

Finally, Blake lived in three-piece suits while she was doing press and premieres for the 2018 film, A Simple Favor . Her character, Emily Nelson, is a big fan of menswear, and so Blake took that to the next level. She gave us this amazing look in a satin Ralph Lauren three-piece suit that I think Emily would be very proud of.
