A 16-year-old boy is now the fifth student from an Atlanta-area high school to die in a car crash this school year.

The latest crash occurred early Tuesday morning near Northcrest and Chamblee-Tucker Roads, a spokesperson from the DeKalb County Police Department tells PEOPLE.

Officers responded to the single-vehicle crash around 1:40 a.m. local time and, upon arrival, found the 16-year-old driver dead at the scene, according to the spokesperson.

The teen has been identified as Guillermo Aguas-Bahena, who was set to graduate from Lakeside High School in 2025, NBC affiliate WXIA-TV and ABC affiliate WSB-TV reported.

Aguas-Bahena “was with his brother and a friend” at the time of the crash, according to Arasely Toro, who organized a GoFundMe campaign for the victim’s family.

Two passengers who were in the car during Tuesday’s crash “were transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries,” the DKPD spokesperson said.

One passenger, Aguas-Bahena’s brother, was in the intensive care unit “because of the injuries he received,” Toro added in the GoFundMe's description.
