16 Highest-Rated Canceled or Ending TV Shows of 2017-18 Season – So Far (Photos)

Upfront season is upon us, and that means broadcast networks are canceling shows left and right to make room for their newly-ordered series. But not every program that got the ax went out with bad Nielsen numbers. Here’s a look at the highest-rated shows didn’t make the cut for the 2018-19 slate… unless they were saved by NBC. (We’re looking at you, “Brooklyn Nine-Nine.”) Ratings are based on Nielsen’s “most current” data stream, which includes a week’s worth of delayed viewing where available. Least-viewed is first, most-watched last.  And, yes, there are ties.

*”Scandal” (ABC): 2.1

*”The Middle” (ABC): 1.9

**”Law & Order True Crime” (NBC): 1.7

“The Brave” (NBC): 1.6

“Designated Survivor” (ABC): 1.6

“Kevin Can Wait” (CBS): 1.6

“Scorpion” (CBS): 1.5

**”The X-Files” (Fox): 1.4

“Me, Myself & I” (CBS): 1.3

“Rise” (NBC): 1.2

“Wisdom of the Crowd” (CBS): 1.2

“Marvel’s Inhumans” (ABC): 1.2

***”Brooklyn Nine-Nine” (Fox): 1.2

“Last Man on Earth” (Fox): 1.2

“9JKL” (CBS): 1.2

“The Mick” Fox: 1.2

So, yeah, Nielsen numbers don’t mean everything when it comes to the Big 4’s decision to cancel a show. Or pick it up from another network. (Again, we’re looking at you “Brooklyn Nine-Nine.”)
