15 delicious places to take mom Mom that show you care on Mother's Day
Sunday is Mother's Day and it's traditionally one of the busiest days at any restaurant. So now is the time to make plans, as in reservations.
Or you can cook for mom yourself.
I thought so.
I will never forget the Mother's Day I worked the lunch shift at Ground Round in Boston when I was in college. I never saw so many mad moms in one place. I guess they didn't think burgers and popcorn was special.
But your mom will be okay with anything you'd like to do that says you care. I promise.

Bacaro and Otra
262 South Water St., Providence, (401) 751-3700, bacarorestaurant.net, and sister restaurant Otra, 303 South Main St., Providence, (401) 633-1313, otrarestaurant.com, will be open and accepting reservations for Mother’s Day from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Both restaurants are serving the full menu and reservations can be made for either restaurant by calling Bacaro at (401) 751-3700 or visiting either website.
Siena Cucina Enoteca and Tavola da Siena
at 5600 Post Rd., (401) 885-8850 East Greenwich and 400 Putnam Pike, Smithfield, (401) 349-4111, sienari.com, will both be open 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Mother's Day.
Wicked Good Bar & Grill
at Bally's Twin River Casino, 100 Twin River Rd., Lincoln, twinriver.com, will serve dinner from noon to 9 p.m. with specials including Asian Salmon, Bourbon Filet and Shrimp and Chicken and Shrimp Alfredo. Reservations not required.
Casino Café & Grille
at the Tiverton Casino, 777 Tiverton Casino Blvd., Tiverton, (401) 816-6000, twinrivertiverton.com/casino-cafe-grille, noon to 9 p.m., reservations are suggested but not required. Specials include Roasted Prime Rib Dinner, Asparagus Stuffed Chicken and Grilled Swordfish.
Jerry Longo’s Meatballs & Martinis
at Bally'sTwin River Casino, 100 Twin River Rd., Lincoln, twinriver.com, will serve dinner from 2 to 8 p.m. with specials including prime rib, eggplant rollatini and Chicken Saltimbocca. Reservations are not required but are suggested.
Parma Ristorante
266 Putnam Pike, Smithfield, (401) 349-0079, parmaristorante.com, will have a Mother’s Day Brunch Buffet with a carving station and fondue tower. Hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. They’ll be open in the evening from 4:30 to 9:30 p.m. with the regular menu plus Mother’s Day Specials. Call for reservations.
Tavolo Wine Bar & Tuscan Grille
970 Douglas Pike, Smithfield, (401) 349-4979, tavolowinebar.com, will serve dinner with Mother's Day specials from 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Pane e Vino Ristorante & Enoteca
365 Atwells Ave., Providence, (401) 223-2230, panevino.net, will offer specials in addition to the dinner menu from 11:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Spumoni’s
1537 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, (401) 726-4449, spumonisrestaurant.com, will be open Mother's Day but reservations are filling up. Call to reserve.
Red Stripe
465 Angell St., (401) 437-6950, redstriperestaurants.com, will be open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Mother's Day.
The Edgewood Cheese Shop & Eatery
1828 Broad St., Cranston, (401) 941-2400, edgewoodcheeseshop.com, has a Mother's Day platter that includes assorted cheeses, meats, fruit, jams, nuts, and sliced baguette. The platter must be pre-ordered and is only available Mother's Day weekend (Friday, May 6, through Sunday, May 8). It available in t sizes starting at $95.
