An Alabama father whose teenage daughter went missing in 2012 was charged with murder in connection with her presumed death, according to multiple reports.

Brittany Robinson was reported missing by her mother over a decade ago, and was last seen with her father, Demetric Hooper, when she was 14 years old. Hooper was indicted on murder charges by a grand jury in Mobile County, police said, according to reports from AL.com, FOX 10 News and WKRG.

Hooper had already been in custody in Oklahoma City on unrelated charges, and will be extradited back to Alabama, FOX 10 reported.

The cold case was presented to a grand jury, and an indictment was returned, despite no body having been found, FOX 10 reported.

“The passage of time makes it more certain that Brittany Robinson was killed and that, you know, she didn’t run away and is just going to appear back in Mobile one day,” Mobile District Attorney Keith Blackwood told the outlet.

It is not immediately clear if Hooper has entered a plea for the murder charges or the charges he is facing in Oklahoma.
