These 12 Moments On "Atypical" Are Completely Full Circle
From Seasons 1 to 4, we've seen the characters of Atypical learn, grow, and change in many ways.
The lovable Gardner family, along with their expanding crew, have had many full-circle moments throughout the series. Read on to see what they are.

1.Sam moves out of his childhood house.
This full-circle moment was a big change for Sam, and he struggled to decide if he could really live on his own. By the end of Season 4, Sam successfully lives with Zahid in an apartment of their own.
2.Elsa and Doug have a successful marriage.

In the beginning, Elsa and Doug are a unit but start facing intense marital issues. As the series closes, their marriage turns around for the better and ends up being stronger than ever. Pro tip: Communication is key.
3.Casey comes to understand and define her sexuality.
The ofttimes sarcastic younger sister eventually comes to realize, and announces, that she's bisexual. It was a long, sweet, and interesting journey seeing her get to this confident, defined place in her life.
4.Sam ends up going to Antarctica.

As we first get to know Sam, we realize he loves Antarctica but never dreamed of actually going there. In the end, he has grown and matured enough to make the trip and heads out feeling confident in his abilities.
5.Sam expands his social circle and makes real, lasting friends.
Sam seems to struggle to make friends in high school, but after he decides to go to Dayton College, he becomes close to Jasper, Sid, Sabrina, and Abby. It was truly wonderful to see these diverse, interesting people enter Sam's life. While he always had his family, Paige, and Zahid, the support he received from his new friends shows his growth.
6.Casey finds true love with Izzie.
During the first few seasons, Casey was pursuing a relationship with Evan. But in the end, she ends up in a secure relationship with Izzie.
7.Evan finds a career he loves.
In Season 1, we saw Evan struggle to figure out what he wants to do with his life. In the end, he's happy and content learning to become an EMT.
8.Doug and Sam end up becoming close.

During the first season, we saw Doug struggle to connect with Sam. In the end, Doug goes with Sam to Antarctica, a father-son trip that proves how close they've become.
9.Zahid figures out that he's ready to really date someone.

Zahid is a ladies' man through and through — always hitting on women or bragging about his successful dates — but by the end of the series, he undergoes a transformation and realizes he thinks he's ready to be in a real relationship. Wow.
10.Paige finds her dream job.

Paige has always been supportive of Sam but finds herself unsure of what she really wants to do with her life. As the series closes, we see her learn to trust herself and really go after her dreams.
11.Doug goes ahead and takes a vacation.

The hardworking EMT had 54 vacation days saved up and had never once used them. Finally, he decides to take a break and goes on a trip.
12.And finally, Bob opens up his own technology store.
