Don't retire your cowboy boots to the back of your closet quite yet. You'll want to wear your stompers for country pop icon Shania Twain, who comes to the Wells Fargo Arena in November, or for Nashville group Old Dominion. They're among the many performers you won't want to miss this fall, some of which will take the stage at a new live performance venue, Vibrant Music Hall, set to open in Waukee later this year.

Jordan Davis won song of the year at the Country Music Association awards last year for “Buy Dirt,” which features country star Luke Byran — who will be in Iowa just a few days after Davis’ show. The Louisiana-born songwriter is known for songs “Singles You Up” and “Next Thing You Know.”

The rock band that’s incorporated reggae, hip hop and funk into their sound comes to the Horizon Events Center. The band 311, pronounced as “three eleven,” saw success with songs like “Down” and “Amber” in the mid-1990s and early 2000s. The band from Omaha, Nebraska, is joined by alt-rockers Awolnation, whose song “Sail” soared to No. 17 on Billboard Hot 100 charts in 2013, and rock act Blame My Youth.

Popular country star Luke Bryan is back for his fifth Farm Tour appearance in Iowa since 2017, and whether you're a “Country Girl" or not, you're invited. Bryan's not only found mega-success as a musician, collecting numerous awards over the past decade, he's also a judge on Fox's "American Idol."

More eyes were on Christian pop artist Lauren Daigle after she released “You Say” in 2018. It led to a Grammy win in 2019 for the song, and for the album the song is on, “Look Up Child.”

Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Grace Potter, the frontwoman of rock band Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, comes to Hoyt Sherman Place in October. The Vermont-born rocker who collaborated with country star Kenny Chesney for the song “You and Tequila,” recorded a song for Disney’s “Tangled” and recently released the album “Mother Road” in August.

"Rock This Town" with Brian Setzer this October. Setzer, well-known for being the face of the rockabilliy band Stray Cats, is a Grammy-winning musician who has also made appearances in film and television, including in the 1987 movie “La Bamba.”

Phillip Phillips

“American Idol” winner Phillip Phillips’ catchy song “Home” peaked at No. 6 on Billboard’s Hot 100, staying on the charts for a total of 40 weeks. The songwriter has performed with John Mayer to the Goo Goo Dolls since his rise to fame.

Skillet and Theory of a Deadman

Following last year's cancellation, the Alive Musical Festival at Atwood Lake Park near Mineral City returns Thursday through Sunday with more than 30 bands and musical artists. Skillet headlines Friday night.

Pierce the Veil

Brothers Mike and Vic Fuentes founded Pierce the Veil in the mid-2000s out of Southern California, their sound incorporating emo-punk and progressive rock. They're joined supergroup L.S. Dunes, post-hardcore band Dayseeker and punkers Destroy Boys.

Old Dominion

The Nashville act Old Dominion — the name a reference to some of their members’ Virigina roots — are behind songs like “One Man Band,” “Memory Lane” and “I Was on a Boat That Day.” But if you aren’t familiar with those songs, you’re likely to recognize the name of a song one of the band members are credited with, like “Save It for a Rainy Day” by Kenney Chesney or “Say You Do” by Dierks Bentley, according to American Songwriter.
