As Black History Month continues, we are continuing to pay tribute to African-American trailblazers who have paved the way and changed the game. One of those individuals is, of course, Tyler Perry who since his rise to fame has established himself as one of the most prominent and influential filmmakers of our time. In addition to his directorial accomplishments, Perry has also become known for his acting and entrepreneurship, and has received numerous accolades including the Governor’s Award from the Primetime Emmy Awards in 2020, the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award from the Academy Awards in 2021, as well as an induction into the Black Music & Entertainment Walk of Fame in 2022. Today we are going to be taking a look at the best Tyler Perry movies and television shows that he has personally directed along with ranking them, which is no easy task because Perry has a vast and diverse filmography.
