Video Premiere: Irontom Delivers Live ‘Be Bold Like Elijah’

Rock ’n’ rollers Irontom are about ready to head out on tour with Red Hot Chili Peppers next week — but before hitting the road, the L.A. band stopped in at the AT&T Audience Network to film a concert special set to air May 5, the same day they’ll release their new album, Partners.

Yahoo Music is excited to premiere a performance from the special, “Be Bold Like Elijah.” The band explains that the song was inspired by an old friend and “is about being confident and true to yourself, a riff and beat to march to in the face of adversity and doubt.”

The band’s upcoming tour will bring things full circle for Irontom guitarist Zach Irons, who received lessons from former Chili Peppers guitarist John Frusciante back in the day. Zach is the son of Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Jack Irons (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Pearl Jam) and grew up on the road with his dad, learning the ins and outs of the music business.

Irontom frontman Harry Hayes had this to say about the Red Hot Chili Peppers tour, “It’s difficult to measure just how much of an impact and influence they’ve had on us as a group. It’s an unbelievable honor, and we’re so excited to get to open for them — they’re truly a great rock ‘n’ roll band.”

Irontom’s special will air Friday, May 5 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on DIRECTV and U-verse (DIRECTV Ch 239/U-verse Ch 1114) and DIRECTV NOW.
