Vanderburgh County Fair

Through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., Vanderburgh County 4-H Center, 201 E. Boonville-New Harmony Road. Admission is $10 for ages 10 and up, and $30 for season passes

This fair is a week-long, family-friendly celebration of community, agriculture and youth empowerment with food booths, arts and crafts, livestock displays, meeting with exhibitors and learning about their projects, tractor pulls, motocross, a rodeo, demolition derby and more.

Thursday

Sandy Lee Watkins Songwriters Festival 2023

Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m., and Friday and Saturday, 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., Rookies, 117 Second St. in Henderson, Kentucky, and The Elm, 120 N Elm St. in Henderson. Tickets are $20 for individual sessions or $100 for a three-day pass.

This festival spans several nights of intimate, acoustic performances by some of Nashville’s award-winning singers and songwriters. Attendees will have an up-close-and-personal experience while hearing stories about how and why their favorite songs were written. Music in the Park

6 to 8 p.m., Howell Park, 901 S. Barker Ave. in Evansville. Free.

Bring your picnic blankets or lawn chairs and enjoy live music by Tony Henning. Food trucks also will be on-site to satisfy your cravings and the pool will be open for late-night swimming.

Friday

Kindergarten, Here I Come

11 a.m. to 2 p.m., CMoe-Children's Museum of Evansville, 22 SE Fifth St. Admission is $12.

cMoe is hosting a practice run for your Pre-K's first day of Kindergarten with a walk-through of an EVSC school bus, the opportunity to explore a mock kindergarten classroom, and speaking with area vendors. Wrap up the day with an End of Summer Foam Party on the outside beach.

Saturday

Franklin Street Bazaar

9 a.m. to 1 p.m. along West Franklin Street in Evansville. Free.

Every Saturday on the lawn of the West Branch Library, hundreds of vendors from local farmers and producers to bakers to artists and craftsmen have pop-up shops for visitors to discover local products.

Evansville Card Con 2023

9 a.m to 7 p.m., Old National Events Plaza, 715 Locust St. Admission is $1 and free for children 12 and under.

This card convention brings together over 200 dealer tables that are looking to buy, sell, and trade sports cards, gaming cards, collectibles, memorabilia and more.

Introduction to Building Survival Shelters

9 a.m to 11:30 a.m., Angel Mounds Historic Site, 8215 Pollack Ave. Tickets are $12 for ages 15 and up.

Learn the basics of how to build your own shelter as experts explore three basic forms − debris huts, wiki-ups, and lean-to’s and when to use them. Supplies will be covered

Evansville Farmers Market

10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Washington Square Mall. Free.

Shop from local vendors, food trucks and join the fun for First Responders Appreciation Day.

Family Fun & Animal Enrichment Day

10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Mesker Park Zoo, 2421 Bement Ave, Tickets are $11 for 13 and up, $10 for ages 3 to 12. Admission is included in zoo entry.

This family-friendly event connects families with zoo keepers as they explain how enrichment, allowing animals to demonstrate their species-typical behavior, differs from animal to animal and how these techniques create healthy animals.

Sunday

Get the Led Out

7 p.m., Victory Theatre, 600 Main St. Tickets range from $7 to $56.

Get the Led Out or GTLO, a Led Zeppelin tribute band, is stopping in Evansville for a night of recreating the sounds of the famous band.

Victor Wainwright and The Train
