Ben Gibbard had himself a hell of a year in 2003. That’s when he essentially defined his career by releasing definitive albums from both Death Cab for Cutie and The Postal Service. Twenty years later, he’s celebrating both iconic LPs by going on tour with… himself. Gibbard and his various cohorts will be playing DCFC’s Transatlanticism and PS’ Give Up in full on this must-see fall trek.

This might be one of the last chances audiences have to catch new wave legends DEVO. The band’s own Mark Mothersbaugh, in conversation with the Guardian, shared, “Are you married? Imagine you had four wives and you worked together. It’s tricky being in a band.” Even if that’s not a hint, you should probably check out DEVO’s West Coast November shows just in case.
Dogstar

Actor and bassist Keanu Reeves has rekindled the rock trio he performs in with guitarist-vocalist Bret Domrose and drummer Rob Mailhouse — Dogstar. Their first release in over 20 years, Somewhere Between the Power Lines and Palm Trees, arrives in October, and they’ve been previewing the material with some summer shows. They’ll return for a second North American leg in late September, and stay on the road straight through the holiday season.

Nestled between solo tour dates during which he’ll be accompanied by Radiohead’s Colin Greenwood on bass, Cave will stop at a number of book stores. He’ll be holding in-store conversations and signing his memoir, Faith, Hope and Carnage, which is out in paperback on September 19th. There’s even a special in-conversation event with co-author Sean O’Hagan in NYC. But did we mention he’s playing with Colin Greenwood?
