106-Year-Old Woman Dons Tiara as She Celebrates Birthday at Disney World: 'Magical'

Longtime Florida resident Magnolia Jackson celebrated turning 106 with her first visit to the happiest place on earth

You’re never too old to celebrate your birthday at the happiest place on earth.

On Wednesday, Walt Disney World Resort made Magnolia Jackson’s dreams come true when she visited the theme park for the first time ever to celebrate her 106th birthday.

According to a press release, Jackson, whose birthday was on March 14, fell in love with all things Disney after she attended the Florida Classic college football game in Orlando last fall and saw Mickey Mouse perform on the field in his drum major outfit. The performance “fueled her desire to celebrate her birthday at Walt Disney World,” according to the release.

And the resort did just that when they made Jackson’s wishes a reality with a big birthday bash in the Magic Kingdom attended by Mickey and Minnie Mouse.

Featuring Mickey Mouse-shaped balloons and large light-up numbers spelling out "106," Jackson attended the celebrations with her nearest and dearest and plenty of cast members.

Jackson was also presented with a silver tiara, which she proudly sported, as well as an impressive personalized cake on a table featuring a banner with the words “Happy 106th Birthday Magnolia” printed on it alongside Disney princesses and characters such as Goofy and Pluto.

“I have a very good feeling towards all these boys and girls,” Jackson said during the celebrations.

In video footage of the bash, Jackson could be seen smiling as she said “Hello” to Minnie before being sung “Happy Birthday” by some of the cast members — who wore Mickey Mouse gloves and Minnie Mouse ears — and Mickey and Minnie. Jackson even joined in the singing at one point.

The long-time Florida resident, who is the oldest living graduate of Bethune-Cookman University, also went on a tour of the Magic Kingdom and spent time with Princess Tiana, before visiting the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival “where she embraced her life-long love of gardening.”

Shannon Smith-Conrad, Walt Disney World Resort ambassador, described the celebrations as “lively” and “magical.”

“Watching her and her family come into the area and seeing Mickey and Minnie and all the love and support from our cast members and community, you just felt the love that she had in her heart and the excitement to be here at Walt Disney World Parks and Resort this morning,” said Smith-Conrad.

“People come to Walt Disney World for birthdays, graduations, wedding anniversaries, so to be able to celebrate Miss Magnolia Jackson’s birthday with her family and friends and our cast members has truly been a magical morning indeed,” she added.
