'1000 LB Sisters': Here is What Tammy Slaton Looks Like Now
32-year-old Tammy Slaton and her 31-year-old sister, Amy both appeared on the newest weight-loss series, '1000-LB Sisters' on 'TLC'. When the show first premiered with the sisters, together they weighed a little over 1000 pounds. Tammy weighed a dangerous 605 pounds and Amy weighed a just as dangerous 406 pounds.
The sisters appeared on the show because they knew that their health was in danger and they needed help in losing enough weight to be able to qualify for bariatric surgery to help them drop the dangerous weight.
During episode two of the show, Tammy tells weight loss specialist, Dr. Charles Procter about all of her health problems because of her obese state. "I have a bad gallbladder, high blood pressure, thyroid problems, gout. A whole bucket list.”
Both Tammy and Amy also have diabetes as well as anxiety from trying to lose weight on their own. It was so bad that is was a life or death situation. It was so bad that Tammy couldn't even walk around normally without the help of a walker and wasn't able to buckle her seat belt properly like everyone else without weight problems can.
If you saw the premiere of the show, '1000-LB Sisters' or see the pictures here, you see that Tammy was so overweight, she had a fat socket in her forehead that made it droop. At one time, she and Amy thought something else was wrong , such as a dangerous growth on her forehead. Because of this, she went to see many doctors about it only to find out that it was a fat socket from her obesity. it is an overflow of extra weight from being overweight.
Because of this fat socket, she had while she weighed over 600 pounds, her self-esteem dropped even lower than it was from the fact that she was obese.
Some viewers of the show may think Tammy was a lost cause. However, she isn't since she continued with her incredible weight loss journey with the help of the show and the weight loss specialist on the show.
Tammy has been updating her friends and followers on social media with her weight loss success.
Her first post on social media to show everyone how serious she was and still is with losing weight and saving her own life was on her Facebook page. Although she doesn't post an updated picture of her whole body, she does post a picture of her face and it shows the fat socket is completely gone.
She posted her first updated weight loss picture in September 2019 where she had lost a significant amount of weight. She then posts more updated pictures as her weight continues to drop in October and December 2019 and finally the latest one in January 2020 where she dropped an even more significant amount of weight.
Her updated weight loss picture in October was made into her profile picture for Facebook. Because she wanted everyone to see the progress she had made, she placed the newer profile picture over the old one to show the difference between the two. With this much weight loss because of help from the show, '1000-LB Sisters' as well as the weight loss specialist Dr. Procter.
We are also happy to report that Tammy now has a boyfriend. We can only hope and wonder if the new couple met on the show so we can see a glimpse of him on the series.
