1. March First Friday in Canton
First Friday will be Irish themed on March 1 in downtown Canton.
Festivities will run 5 to 9 p.m., highlighted by the Medina-based O'Kennedy-Holland Irish Dance Company, who will be joined by a piper and drummer from the College of Wooster. Performances will on a pop-up basis at various downtown businesses.
2. Players Guild presents 'Sweeney Todd'
Players Guild Theatre will present the stage classic "Sweeney Todd" this weekend and the second weekend of March.
"Sweeney Todd" is the tale of an unjustly exiled barber, who returns to 19th centuryLondon, seeking vengeance against the lecherous judge who framed him and ravaged hisyoung wife.
Shows will be 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at The Mary J. Timken Theatre in the Fine Arts Building, 6000 Frank Ave. NW in Jackson Township. Tickets, $25 to $45, are available at https://playersguildtheatre.com/ or by calling the box office at 330-244-3224.
A second round performances will be March 8-10 at the same times.
Featuring a cast of 23 actors, the musical is directed by Tess Burgler, while Bart Herman plays the lead role of Sweeney Todd with Heather Culotta portraying Mrs. Lovett.
3. Fairless High School presents 'The Addams Family'
The Falcon Playhouse will present "The Addams Family: School Edition" on Friday and Saturday at Fairless High School.
Performances will be at 7 p.m. Friday, and 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday, at Lucinda J. Frailly Fine and Performing Arts Center at the high school, 11885 Navarre Road SW.
Tickets are $10 in advance online and $12 at the door.
4. North Canton Playhouse presents 'August: Osage County'
North Canton Playhouse will present "August: Osage County" this weekend and March 7, 9 and 10.
Friday and Saturday performances are 7:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. Sunday at 525 7th St. NE at Hoover High School. The March 7 show is also at 7:30 p.m.
The story is about the Weston family, who unexpectedly reunites after their father disappears. Set in Oklahoma, the dramedy received the 2008 Pulitzer Prize drama.

5. Michael W. Smith at the Canton Palace
Worship, gospel and pop singer Michael W. Smith performs at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Canton Palace Theatre.
The Grammy-winning artist's music crossed over from contemporary Christian in the '80s to pop and adult contemporary in the '90s, including the hit song, "Place in This World."

6. 'Golden Girls' tribute dinner theater
Stardust Dinner Theatre will present a "Golden Girls" tribute Saturday in Jackson Township.
The performance features songs and will be based on episodes from the hit television sitcom. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. at La Pizzaria, 3656 Dressler Road NW.

7. COMPASS makes finals of Tri-C Rock Off at Rock Hall
Jackson Township pop rock band COMPASS will be competing Saturday in the Tri-C High School Rock Off at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland.
Comprised of three siblings who are Jackson Local Schools students, the band advanced from the semifinals. Arianna Kefalas is the vocalist and bassist; Harrison Kefalas is the guitarist; and Johnny Kefalas plays drums.

Twelve acts are in the finals of what marks the last year of the annual Tri-C Rock Off, presented by Live Nation. Bands will vie for cash prizes, including $3,000 to the winner.
Tickets, $15 for students and $20 for adults, are available at rockhall.com/rockoff. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the first of 12 acts perform at 6:30 p.m.
8. Females of Comedy take over Patina Arts Centre
The Females of Comedy will present an art show 5 to 10 p.m. Friday at Patina Arts Centre, 324 Cleveland Ave. NW in downtown Canton. A comedy show is at 8 p.m.
"Artsy Fartsy" will showcase the artwork of several comedians, including Samantha Archual, Autumn Carper, K.C. Curry, Amanda Elam, Gabi Fash, Jacquelynn Gray, GW Nell, Kelly Thewlis and Amy Wyler.
Art mediums include graphic art prints, paintings and photography. Artwork will be displayed through March and for sale.
Touring the art gallery will be free; tickets for the comedy show cost $12 in advance at https://www.eventbrite.com/ and $15 at the door.
9. 'This is Spinal Tap' on the big screen
The classic movie "This Is Spinal Tap" will be shown 7:30 p.m. Friday at Canton Palace Theatre.
Tickets cost $10, and can be purchased online at https://cantonpalacetheatre.org/ or at the door beginning at 6:30 p.m. Friday. Seating is general admission.
10. Quonset Hut Spring Fling Market
Quonset Hut will host a Spring Fling Market from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 9.
The event will be in the community event space next to Quonset Hut, 3775 Cleveland Ave. NW.
Local vendors will be selling unique and fun goods, including Akashic Record Readings with Juanita Mazzarella, Acathla Clothing, DaveRuinsArt, DizzyBritt Crafts, Murdercide Peculiarities, The Nail Junkie, Punky Fresh, Sage's Succulents, Tor's Prints: Stickers & Things and TyeDye Addict.
