10 Evansville restaurants with lunch specials at $10 or less
EVANSVILLE − It seems like everything is so expensive these days, sometimes it's a struggle to find a little extra cash for a meal out.
To help, we found 10 places where there are weekday lunch specials priced under $10. This is not a complete list. For more great lunch deals, good things to look for are plate lunch specials at diners, bars and taverns; and lunch combo specials at Mexican and Asian restaurants.
The Burgh House
The Burgh House at the Showplace Entertainment Center in Newburgh offers a $9 lunch menu daily between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. A drink is included in the price. Choices include a French dip, a Royal Burger, veggie wrap, fish & Chips and others.

El Patron Mexican Restaurant
El Patron Mexican Restaurant has a heck of a value meal. From 11 a.m. – 3 p.m, Monday – Friday, choose from a special lunch list for $5.99. Combos include Mexican restaurant favorites such as burritos, tacos, chimichangas, quesadillas enchiladas and tamales and others served with rice and beans or salad, or you may create your own nacho plate. Drinks are not included but you can add a beer or margarita for $1.99.

Fat Boy's Pizza
Fat Boy’s Pizza in Newburgh offers a lunch special Tuesday – Friday from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. with chips and a drink of a half sandwich (strom, Texas BBQ, chicken bacon ranch, Fat Boy sloppy Joe or others) for $7, a BBQ pork sandwich for $6, or a seven-inch pizza with up to three toppings for $8. Curbside pickup only.

The Frontier Restaurant
The Frontier Restaurant and Bar offers a lunch special from 10:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday - Friday for $9.99.
Specials change depending on the chef's whim, but you might find a fried catfish filet with macaroni and cheese and baked beans, Salisbury steak with mashed potatoes and gravy, country fried steak, fried chicken or another homestyle favorite.

Hacienda Mexican Restaurant
Hacienda restaurants have a trove of under-$10 specials. From Monday to Friday from when the restaurant opens until 4 p.m. you’ll find a make your own lunch combo with a drink for $9.99. First choose a burrito, chimichanga, enchilada, double cheeseburger, boneless wings or other entrée, then add fries or rice and beans. Lighter eaters can have a cup of soup and dinner salad.

Hickory Pit Stop
Hickory Pit Stop Championship Barbecue has a regular menu selection of sandwiches and sides so reasonably priced we felt we needed to include it here, even though they technically are not lunch specials. Burgers start at a mere $2.25 for a regular small hamburger and increase to $3.25 for a double cheeseburger. Barbecue sandwiches on white bread range from $4.50 to $7.
Sides including fries, slaw, potato salad and baked beans are $2.50, so it’s easy to put together a nice meal for under $10. Most of the smoked meat plates with bread, pickle/onion and one side item are under $10, as well.

Osaka Japanese Hibacha and Sushi
Osaka Japanese Hibachi and Sushi offers hibachi chicken and with rice and vegetables and a drink for $9.99 Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Lighter eaters might also enjoy one of the classic sushi rolls for lunch, which are priced from $6.50 -$7.50.

Prime Time Pub and Grill
The Prime Time Pub and Grill in Newburgh and Prime Time North on U.S. 41 North have a mix-and-match lunch special for $9.99 available Monday through Friday from 11 a.m.-3 p.m.
Choose a half club, turkey, ham or BLT sandwich or a lunch wrap and pair it with a cup of soup, fries, tots, house chips or a side salad, or have lunch ravioli with a salad and breadstick. Upgrades are available if you don’t mind going over the $10 mark.

The Stockwell Inn Bar and Grill offers a daily special Monday through Friday for $7.50.
The choices change from week to week, but a few examples are chicken tenders with fries, sloppy Joe with fries and slaw, meatloaf and gravy with mashed potatoes and peas, spaghetti with garlic toast and salad, pork roast with dressing and green beans, and many others.

Takeout Express
Takeout Express has a whole menu section of lunch specials for $8.98 served Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Entrees are accompanied by a spring roll and your choice of white or fried rice. Dishes include mild dishes such as sweet and sour chicken and moo goo gai pan, and spicier items such as Szechuan chicken or General Tso’s chicken.
