Gold Dots Burlap Table Runner

Sometimes the best way to make something look extra sparkly and full of light is to put it next to something that is natural and earthy. We’ve made a table runner with golden bubbles to make your décor light and festive. Our little trick on this easy and quick runner for your holiday table is one of the most effective around.  We use a burlap base — easy to find and easy on the pocket book. Just a bit of gold paint and glitter and suddenly it becomes a streaming pathway of golden delight!

Materials:

  • 2-3 yards of burlap

  • Cork stopper from a jar

  • Gold Paint

  • Gold glitter

Tools:

  • Shallow bowl for paint

  • Plastic tarp (or trash bags)

Instructions:

  1. Lay out your tarp (or plastic trash bags) as a table runner. Then lay the burlap right on top, making sure it’s flat.

  2. Pour a decent amount of gold paint into a shallow bowl and dunk the bottom of the cork stopper in the paint. (This is your “stamp.”)

  3. Press the cork down evenly on to the burlap at intervals — no set pattern necessary, just think “bubbles” — make sure the paint is replenished with each stamping.

  4. Before the paint is dry, sprinkle a touch of glitter on each gold circle.

  5. Let dry completely before removing the plastic underliner.
