With Tina Fey and Amy Poehler hosting again this year, odds are good we’ll get some funny moments.

If you want to throw a decadent party to match the opulence of the show itself, we suggest going gold. We’re pretty sure you’ll feel like a bit of a celebrity yourself when you give your fête the gilded treatment.

Here are seven ideas that will have your guests looking for the red carpet.

1. Make Your Balloons Pop

When you pick up a bouquet of helium balloons at your local party store, all you need is a little gold paint to take them from children’s party fun to grown up glamour. Most stores will offer two types of helium: one is a little more expensive, but also lighter.  We suggest choosing that option, as the gold paint will make the balloon heavier.

2. Dip Your Glasses

This project can turn really inexpensive, boring glassware into golden goblets. Use painters tape to make sure the paint doesn’t run any further than you’d like it to, and then dip your glasses in a can of gold paint. Once they’re dry, you’ll probably always want to drink your champagne (or water, or orange juice) out of them.

3. Make Your Bubbles Sparkle

Champagne is already festive, but there is always room for a bit of an upgrade. Individual Champagne bottle favors rolled in gold glitter are the perfect parting gift for your guests.

4. Rim Your Cocktails

Edible gold sparkles or sanding sugars can really make your martini look like a million bucks. Run a cut lemon or lime along the rim of your glass and then simply dip it in shimmering sweetness.

5. Gold. Donuts.

Who doesn’t love a donut? Make it a gold donut and, well… heaven! Edible gold sparkles take these donuts to glamorous new heights.

6. Hang Golden Drops of Light

We admit this may be a bit involved, but if you’re the hostess with the mostess and have a flair for the dramatic, you may be willing to put in the time. This chandelier features several gold dipped light bulbs strung up together, to cast the ultimate golden soft light.

7. Turn Your Blondies into Goldies

Swap out your traditional brownie and blondie go-to’s for something even more decadent. At last year’s Weinstein Company Golden Globe party, baker and confection queen Sheila G. Mains, maker of Brownie Brittle, created Brownie Praline Cheesecake Bites. We wonder what she’ll come up with this year!

So put on something festive, set up the bar, have nibbles and treats on hand, and go glam with gold.

And the Golden Globe for best party goes to…
