Zac Efron Channels His Inner Matthew McConaughey When He’s Shirtless
It seems like Zac Efron is shirtless in all of his movies, and Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising is no exception. When The Insider With Yahoo caught up with the 28-year-old actor and his co-stars Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne, we couldn’t resist asking Efron about his need to constantly be showing off his chiseled bod.
“I just look up to Matthew McConaughey a lot,” he teased. “So I just try to look at how he started his career.” That might not be such a bad idea since the Interstellar star won an Oscar in 2014 for his performance in Dallas Buyers Club.
Still, it can’t be easy for anyone — including Rogen — to have to bare their own bod on the big screen while standing next to the ripped Efron. “It’s OK. I get the joke,” Rogen laughed.
Nick Stoller, who co-wrote and directed Neighbors 2, revealed Efron’s secret to looking hot on set.
“He has bands. He’s got the resistance bands,” he noted. “There’s like a weight bench. He’s doing pushups. You know, all that stuff."
He added that the former Disney star also follows a super healthy diet.
"The meal he said he ate all the time was chicken and a sweet potato and broccoli,” he said. “I think he ate that over and over and over again."
