Yolanda Hadid Posts Controversial Throwback Photo of Her ‘Angels’ Gigi and Bella

Just because you’re all grown up with a killer career hardly means you’re too old for your parents to embarrass you — just ask Gigi and Bella Hadid. The model sisters have been busy flitting around Paris in preparation for the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show taping today, where they will both have the honor of walking the runway encrusted in candy-colored lingerie and Angel wings. Their mother, meanwhile, has been busy digging through old photo albums … where she found this gem.

Because the 52-year-old former model can’t contain her enthusiasm, she shared it on social media for the world to see. In the snap are pint-size Gigi and Bella wearing wings — and not a lick of clothing. “17 years after I photographed my ‘ANGELS’ Today is the day that they will be walking in the fashion show together,” Yolanda Hadid captioned the shot. Just in case her excitement wasn’t clear, she added “Dreams do come true, VS fashion show 2016” in giant red letters across the image.

The little girls are all smiles in the shot and don’t seem the least bit bothered by their nudity, but some people who came across the shot definitely were. While some found the image sweet, others thought it bordered on child porn.

“Totally naked … beautiful picture to us mums, just too many sickos out there that would see this in a different way. Sad but so true,” one commenter speculated beside the image. Another added, “You talk about not sexualizing women and here you go, doing that to children.”

Others didn’t find the picture offensive but did think the 20-something models still might not appreciate the oversharing. “They look so cute and adorable and i know that in some cultures europe/middle east taking those pics isn’t a big deal but tbh some kids don’t like some strangers to take a naked picture of them,” the commenter wrote.

For their part, Gigi and Bella each recently posted their own shots celebrating their sisterhood (though they had clothes on in theirs).

Gigi shared a sweet shot of the duo as little girls, soaking up some sun in bathing suits and bandannas. It was definitely as sweet as their mom’s post, but far less controversial.

In contrast, Bella posted a recent pic of herself alongside Gigi backstage at the show. “Can’t believe I get to experience all of this with my best friend!” she gushed beside a snap of the pair leaping for joy as they held hands.

Before getting on a plane herself to go watch her progeny work the runway, Yolanda shared a far less controversial (and embarrassing) photo of her two daughters alongside Lady Gaga backstage.

The models are wearing what is likely to be the most clothes they’ve had on in days in the shot as they snuggle up to make a Gaga sandwich, duck faces front and center. “Excited to see you girls tomorrow night,” Yolanda shared like the proud momager she is. The show will air on CBS on Dec. 5.

But Yolanda’s not the only one who is excited. Gigi took to the VSFS 2016 Instagram account to share a message to her fans as she got ready for the big event.

“My favorite part of today is right before the show, when everyone puts their wings on and just to see all of my friends’ dreams coming true is so beautiful and so emotional for me,” she explained with a smile. In other words, her favorite part of the show isn’t when her mom gets overly enthused and posts nude pics of her from childhood.
