A little over 18 years ago, the McCaughey family made headlines when parents Kenny and Bobbi gave birth to the world’s first ever surviving septuplets: Alexis, Brandon, Joel, Kelsey, Kenny Jr., Natalie, and Nathan. The Iowa siblings were born about nine weeks premature, and each weighed a mere 3 lbs - and now, they’ve just graduated high school.

This weekend, the world’s first surviving septuplets walked at the 2016 graduation for Carlisle High School, beaming ear to ear. According to USA Today, two of the siblings, Natalie and Alexis, made the National Honor Society; and all of them were offered full scholarships at Hannibal-LaGrange University in Missouri. Not all of them plan to accept the offer, however: At this time, Brandon plans to enlist in the army, Kenny hopes to go into construction, and Kelsey wants to pursue a career in music.

For the first time, it seems like the septuplets’ paths will fully diverge - but given the fact that the family declined to speak to the media leading up to their graduation in favor of spending more time together, it’s safe to say their bond remains unshakeable.
