Wiz Khalifa on Son Sebastian’s Style: ‘Daddy Dresses Him Best!’

Who knew that Wiz Khalifa would end up being such a doting dad? The rapper absolutely adores his son, Sebastian, and says that his favorite part of the parenting routine is getting his 3-year-old dressed in the morning.

“He’s a fun kid. He’s a classic kid. So I dress him how I would dress myself,” Khalifa, 29, recently told Yahoo Celebrity while promoting his new BASH by Junk Food collection at Junk Food Clothing’s flagship store in Venice, Calif.

So when the “Black and Yellow” singer is on dad duty, Sebastian rocks Chucks, Vans, solid-colored jeans, and a variety of T-shirts. But if his ex-wife, Amber Rose, coordinates the toddler’s outfits, he hits the town with a completely different look — one that Khalifa tolerates but doesn’t necessarily endorse.

“When his mom dresses him, he looks crazy!” the Grammy-nominated artist exclaimed. “He actually matches when I dress him. Daddy dresses him best!”

According to Khalifa, Sebastian is already starting to take an interest in fashion. Although he isn’t quite picking out his own outfits yet, he is beginning to take inventory of what he has on.

“He definitely has opinions on his shoes, especially if they hurt or not,” Khalifa noted.

That’s why it’s not surprising that Khalifa teamed up with Junk Food Clothing to launch the matching father/son apparel line called BASH, whose moniker is Sebastian’s cute nickname.

“The designs are really fun,” Khalifa explained of the collection. “Appropriate for kids but fun for adults as well.”

Because little Sebastian’s interests inspired much of the attire, the line incorporates things like cartoon sketches of dinosaurs and rocket ships into the designs. There are also T-shirts and sweatshirts adorned with pumpkins sporting goofy jack-o’-lantern grins and spooky ghosts, which pay homage to the boy’s love for Oct. 31.

“Halloween is his favorite holiday,” Khalifa said. “We’ve got the house all decorated, we’re gonna go trick-or-treating, we go to the pumpkin patch all the time.”

The “See You Again” rapper joked, however, that though the duo traditionally goes all out with their costumes, he can’t yet confirm what his son will dress as this year. “He changes his mind every other day!” he said with a laugh.

Another thing that Sebastian is into is music. He’s a massive fan of his dad’s song collection and often raps along.

“He listens to music and he sings really well,” Khalifa shared. “He listens to anything that I listen to.”

And the toddler apparently prefers what his father refers to as “harder music” the best.

“He really likes ’hood music. If he hears the bass and stuff, he’ll just come in from another room,” Khalifa said.

Because Sebastian has shown some musical tendencies, Khalifa admits that he can see his son pursuing a career of some sort within the entertainment industry. And if that is the case, Khalifa would be 100 percent onboard.

“I’m not trying to force him to do anything, but I know he likes it,” the rapper said. “I will support him in whatever he wants to do.”

Khalifa, who is still getting the hang of fatherhood but loving every minute of it, says that raising Sebastian throws him a new surprise every single day. But the biggest thing that he wasn’t prepared for? How fast his son is growing up.

“He’s growing really really fast! It’s crazy how fast he grows!” Khalifa exclaimed, adding that it’s also crazy to watch Sebastian’s personality develop. For instance, the boy was supposed to accompany him to the BASH launch but opted to go to a friend’s birthday party instead.

“What are you gonna do?” Khalifa said with a grin. “I guess I can represent!”
