While Anna Faris Is Busy Hosting Her Super Bowl Party, There’s a Good Chance Her Son Will Be Off Destroying Her House

Being part of a Seattle Seahawks household, Anna Faris doesn’t have a horse in the race at Super Bowl 50, but that doesn’t mean she won’t be partying along with the rest of America for the big game.

“Yes, of course” it’s less exciting this year, the 39-year-old actress tells Yahoo Celebrity, breaking into fake sobs. “I gotta say though, I’ve been loving watching the Panthers play. They are such an awesome team. Like the Seahawks, it’s been really exciting to see a young, really fast, up-and-coming team doing so well. So I think I’m rooting for the Panthers — though I’m talking like I know what football is.”

The self-deprecating star, who’s best known for her comedy chops in the Scary Movie film series and now TV’s Mom, says she’s still learning the rules of the game from her hubby of six years, Chris Pratt.

“I tell Chris if we’re watching together, ‘Baby, you have to limit it to one new rule a game,” says Faris, while promoting Lay’s brand potato chip’s upcoming Flavor Swap. “I cannot absorb anything more than that. Because I never really watched before Chris. We both happen to be from Seattle, so we are total Seahawks fans."

This year, the Faris/Pratt household will be watching the game at home with friends on their new tube.

"Because we live in Los Angeles, we recently put a television outside, which is exciting,” she shares. “So I think I’m going to have some friends over and have an all-American shindig at the house.” Her parents, who often pop up in her very witty Twitter feed, will not be there. "I love my parents so much, but I wouldn’t mind cutting loose a bit."

But she can’t cut too loose because she has to keep tabs on that adorable rascal of a son they have, Jack. He is a handful, which most 3-year-old children are.

"I’m new to this parenting thing,” Faris says. "I’m a younger sibling, I didn’t have a ton of exposure to young kids growing up, and stuff like that. I’m totally going into this blindly. It took about six times for me to realize that if he’s playing quietly, there’s trouble. There’s trouble a-brewin’. I learned the hard way. I figure I’m not going to have anything done to the house in terms of painting or new furniture — besides the outside TV — until he’s 8 or 9.”

When we suggest 18 may be a better number, Faris asks if we have children and we say we have a 1-year-old daughter. “So you’re about to enter the world of crayons. And makeup! He loves drawing with my makeup,” she laughs.

Young Jack’s take on football? He finds it stressful. While watching the game which saw the Seahawks get eliminated in the playoffs, "He said, 'Mommy, I don’t like this movie,’” she recalls, admitting. “It is unnerving.”

Also unnerving? Betting, so Faris — who’s the host of a witty new podcast, Anna Faris Is Unqualified — will make no wagers on the game. “It makes me too nervous,” she says. “I’m not a good gambler.” Though it’s hard to top the bet between her husband and Chris Evans over last year’s game. The men, who both play superheroes on the big screen, made a wager in which the loser would visit sick children in costume. It ended up being a win all around.

“That bet was so cool,” she says proudly. “Even though the Seahawks lost and Chris went to Boston, I’m sure you already heard that Chris Evans was so sweet and flew to Seattle and put on his Captain America costume and they visited Seattle Children’s Hospital too. It made so many kids happy.”

Faris, who loves hosting shindigs like she will on Sunday, recently partnered up with Lay’s to host their latest Flavor Swap, where people can vote for which potato chip flavors stay on store shelves and which ones go. The star, who describes herself as a “salty, savory girl over sweets in general” says that when she has guests over on game night, she’s hands on in the kitchen: mashing the avocados, heating the pigs in a blanket, and — natch — opening the chip bags.

“Yeah, I’m kind of the busy bee like that,” she says. “I want to make sure everyone is well fed and served. I love hosting and having people over. I love cooking. So I will definitely be wandering around.”

She quips, “This is probably why I don’t understand what is going on in football.”
