Wendy Williams Reveals Secrets Behind Her 50-Pound Weight Loss

Wendy Williams is looking better than ever, shedding 50 pounds in the last three years.

The talk show host, 51, revealed the secrets behind shedding those pesky pounds and keeping them off during a recent Q&A video posted to her YouTube channel. Williams told fans that she stopped eating meat, refined sugar, and dairy as well as eating after dark. She also started doing cardio and Pilates. Another key to her success? Cutting back on the amount of food she eats.

“Of all the crazy diets I’ve been on, none have ever been as effective as [saying to myself], ‘Just push back, fatso. Just stop eating so much,’” she confessed.

Williams also changed her mind-set about her overall health.

“I go to the gym because it’s not about me losing weight at this point, it’s about me trying to fight heart disease,“ she said. "Slow and steady is the name of the game. It’s not going to happen overnight. I no longer believe in fad diets, crash diets… Yes, I did have a jump-start because years ago I did get the liposuction and the tummy tuck, but I have to say that, if there is a poster child for plastic surgery and the jump-off to a new lifestyle, it would be me."

In 2009, Wendy admitted to getting lipo in 1994 and in 2013 she revealed to Dr. Oz that her battle over food began as a child when her parents would restrict how much she ate. “I would always sneak in the refrigerator and eat seconds and underneath my bed … was littered with Twinkie wrappers and Jolly Rancher wrappers,” she said. “And I would sneak eat, because I was denied food.”

Despite her troubles with food, Wendy doesn’t hold it against her parents. “My mom and dad did the best they could in 1970 and '71 and '72. They didn’t know any better,” she told Dr. Oz.
