Taylor Swift Turns Tom Hiddleston Into a Lovestruck Schoolboy, and the World Doesn’t Like It One Bit

Oh Lord, what fools these mortals be. Over the holiday weekend, Tom Hiddleston and Taylor Swift went public with their love — very, very public. The 35-year-old Night Manager star wore his heart on his sleeve, literally, with a (fake) pink heart-shaped tattoo featuring a giant T in the middle. Swifty reciprocated with a matching heart-shaped T tat. (Get it? For Tom and Taylor … aww.) The actor, however, took his PDA one step further, rocking an “I heart T.S.” tank top. (She did not reciprocate, instead opting for a red bikini.)

Besides these fashion selections, they were also pretty much all over each other throughout her star-studded, girl-squad-loaded Fourth of July bash, holding hands, hugging, and sucking face. Oh, and Taylor reportedly hired a professional photog to capture each memorable moment. (Calvin Harris who?)

Not surprisingly, fans have had a frenemy response to Hiddleswift’s latest lovefest. While the 26-year-old singer — who has garnered something of a reputation for diving into the deep end fast when it comes to romance — and the actor have been spared the brunt of late-night talk show monologues devoted to their holiday-party love (because of repeats due to said holiday), the Internet has picked up a lot of the slack.

“What has Taylor Swift turned Tom Hiddleston into?” one Twitter-er asked. “A prepube infatuated boy who literally has a pink tattoo and wears a vest while swimming.”

Another shared, “I thought zigi were extra but tom hiddleston out here wearing an I heart t.s shirt and getting a temporary tattoo of taylor’s name wyd tom.”

Still others asked the important questions — like how Hiddleston’s sudden crazy-in-love antics might affect a desire to be James Bond. (For the record, the actor has not officially stated anything about wanting to be 007, but fans certainly have.) “Would James Bond have a Taylor Swift tattoo?” a fan asked. “I’m unsure what #TomHiddleston’s endgame is at this point…”

Yet others lamented the awkweirdness of their PDA: “tom hiddleston and taylor swift are giving everyone within a five thousand mile radius of them second hand embarrassment,” @laurapalmers wrote.

“Sorry I’ve just seen the picture of Tom Hiddleston wearing an ‘I heart TS’ t-shirt and I have died of cring, RIP me,” another joked.

"Becoming increasingly convinced that Tom Hiddleston and Taylor Swift are pulling a Joaquin Phoenix I’m Still Here style prank on us,” Nick Reilly asserted.

“I get it now. Tom Hiddleston pretending to date Taylor Swift is his James Franco doing General Hospital,” another offered.

According to E! News, however, this relationship is real, and Taylor’s Independence Day party was thrown, at least in part, as an excuse to introduce her new man to her friends. (ICYMI, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, Ruby Rose, Uzo Aduba, Karlie Kloss, Gigi Hadid, Cara Delevingne, Halston Sage, and Abigail Anderson were all on hand during the fete — and Tom even went down the giant, inflatable water slide with a gang of the girls.)

“Tom has met all of Taylor’s best friends at this point in their relationship,” an insider reported. “They all really like Tom and like how he treats Taylor. Things are moving fast between them, but none of her friends are worried because they have never seen her this happy.” … Since the last time she was this happy? Is that what they mean? So. Many. Questions. Fortunately, it’s safe to say they will all be answered in a song at some point in the future.
