Stephen Colbert slams Trump for appointing Jared Kushner to White House spot
Another day, another chance for Stephen Colbert to skewer a Donald Trump decision.
This time, the Late Show host weighed in on Trump appointing his son-in-law Jared Kushner to head the Bureau of Obvious Nepotism Office of American Innovation, where he will oversee a broad effort to overhaul the federal government.
“And the government desperately needs overhaul,” said Colbert on Monday’s show. “I mean, somebody keeps putting totally unqualified people in charge of really important stuff.”
While many may question Kushner’s qualifications for the position, Colbert joked that Kushner is just the man for the job considering his brilliant business savvy.
“You know he’s got great business ideas,” he said. “Like... being born into a wealthy real estate family. Or, marrying into a wealthy real estate family. Why hasn’t the government tried that?”
