Stars Hit Broadway for the Premiere of 'Hamilton'

If one were looking to understand exactly how big Hamilton, arguably the buzziest show on Broadway since Book of Mormon, is, one would have to look no further than the New York Times review which begins simply, “Yes, it really is that good.”

And so the hottest ticket in town Thursday night was to the official Broadway debut of Hamilton. The show ostensibly tells the story of Alexander Hamilton, insofar as any hip-hop musical can be about one of the nation’s founding fathers. It was written by Lin-Manuel Miranda, he also stars alongside Jonathan Groff.

The show opened first off Broadway where it quickly amassed quite the slew of fans including Michelle Obama, Bradley Cooper, and Jerry Seinfeld. Madonna found the show to be a great place to rest her feet while she texted.

Fittingly, its Broadway debut was quite the star-studded affair.

The show does not have a bigger fan than Sarah Jessica Parker who wrote on one of two Instagram posts about the show, “5 pm, Aug 6th, 2015. Opening night on Broadway. The curtain rose and everything changed.”

So you’re thinking to yourself, Wow, I’m gonna get myself some tickets to Hamilton. Oh man, what a joke, you didn’t think just anyone could go did you? The next available ticket is for a performance on Sept. 6, a month away from now, and those are resale only. The cheapest ticket is $255.

Sorry to let you down, but at least Sarah Jessica Parker and Allison Williams had fun.
