Solemn Kim Kardashian Leaves NYC Apartment With Kanye West, Kids Amid Robbery Investigation

Kim Kardashian has left the building — the building being the $30 million New York City penthouse she’s been holed up in following the armed robbery in Paris.

On Thursday, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star, 35, was photographed exiting the luxury rental, which features 360-degree views of the Big Apple skyline. Kim carried daughter North West and was accompanied by her husband, Kanye West, who had their son, Saint, in his arms. There were at least two bodyguards with them.

Kardashian, who had $11 million in jewels stolen by five masked men last weekend in Paris, appeared solemn as she scurried by photographers. Although she’s known for her lavish taste in fashion and jewelry, she was stripped down to basically gym clothes. She had an oversize hoodie pulled up, and dark pants along with black sneakers.

With the robbery investigation in full swing (a black limo is now the focus), an insider tells Yahoo that a “still very shaken up and traumatized” Kim is rethinking all aspects of her life in the spotlight. She “absolutely” blames her social media behavior for leading to the attack. The brunette is “distraught” when she thinks about how she flaunted her $4.6 million ring, which was at the center of the theft, and “sees how reckless it was.”

She’s now questioning “everything” about how to moved forward, “mostly for the sake of her kids. First and foremost, she wants them to be safe, and would never want to do anything to jeopardize their safety,” the insider adds.

The upgraded security presence on Thursday was apparent. A second Kardashian source says the family’s security detail was “absolutely” getting beefed up.

Meanwhile, on Thursday, People magazine reported that French police are on the hunt for a suspicious black car that was seen in the early hours of Monday morning circling the No Address Hotel, where the robbery took place. The vehicle was caught on surveillance video three times in the minutes around when the crime occurred.

While Kim has yet to post anything on social media — a record for her — her sister Kourtney, who was with her in Paris (but out at a club when the robbery took place), posted a Bible passage on Twitter on Wednesday.
