Sofia Richie Sends Her First Tweet

Better late than never. On Nov. 21, Sofia Richie posted her first-ever tweet. Technically, the 18-year-old model joined nearly four years ago, in December 2012, but she hadn’t sent any messages out into the world until yesterday.

“Just a bit late to the twitter game,” she wrote alongside an emoji playfully sticking out its tongue and winking (as you do). She posted a screenshot of the tweet on her Instagram account to help get the word out, which garnered more than 31,000 likes in less than 24 hours and helped build her Twitter following to nearly 5,000 by the next day.

Shortly after posting, she followed a smattering of folks, including big sister Nicole Richie, her friends Anwar Hadid, Cully Smoller, and Nicola Peltz, superstar Rihanna, and the official account for Tommy Hilfiger (which makes sense, since she models for the brand). Notably off her list of accounts she’s watching, however — Justin Bieber. Though he has taken a hiatus from Instagram, his Twitter is still very much alive, but it seems Sofia wants nothing to do with her former fling’s social media posts.

This was a far cry from just a few months ago when they were practically connected at the hip. The “Sorry” singer helped Sofia ring in her 18th birthday in August at hot spots Doheny Room and the Nice Guy in Los Angeles. While they reportedly kept their distance at the club, they appeared “very much together but not crazy affectionate” upon arriving at the restaurant. It seemed it was not meant to be, however, as they broke up at the end of the summer after dating a mere six weeks.

Though Sofia attended his concert in London last month, an insider explained “Sofia and Justin are not back together, and they never were an official couple. They just hooked up and were close friends.” The insider added: “Sofia is still kind of annoyed at how Justin handled a few things, but they still communicate. They haven’t hooked up in a minute.”

For the record, Justin isn’t following her on Twitter (yet) either.
