Sofia Richie Says She and Justin Bieber Have a ‘Special Relationship’
Sofia Richie’s opening up about her relationship with Justin Bieber for the first time. The rising model recently took off to Mexico with the pop star to celebrate her 18th birthday, so when she sat down with Billboard magazine for its first-ever style issue, she played coy when asked about their budding romance.
“We have a special relationship,” she said. “Justin is very easy to talk to, and that’s hard to find with people in Los Angeles.”
The teen also addressed some of the online bullying she’s faced regarding their relationship. “I remember the paparazzi and the s*** people would say to Nicole, and she wouldn’t respond,” Sofia said, referring to her famous older sister. “I’m going to be real with you: It. Doesn’t. Bother. Me. As long as I’m happy.”
And she has a lot to be happy about. Sofia has already appeared in Vanity Fair, Elle, and Vogue China, but her dad, music legend Lionel Richie, still tries to steer her toward music by inviting his talented pals over, including her brother-in-law, Joel Madden.
“One night he intercoms me, like, ‘Come have dinner in the studio,‘” she recalls. “So I go down, and it’s my dad and Pharrell Williams. I’m like, ‘I can’t just sit here and casually have a dinner with you two! I’m so sorry, I’ve got to go back upstairs.'”
