Shooting at T.I. Concert at NYC's Irving Plaza Leaves One Dead, Three Wounded

Shots were fired during T.I.'s concert at Irving Plaza in New York City's Union Square on Wednesday, leaving one person dead and three others wounded, according to the New York City Deputy Commissioner of Public Information.

Emergency services responded to the scene to treat three unidentified male victims and one female victim. One 33-year-old male victim who was shot in the stomach was rushed to Mount Sinai Beth Israel Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Another male victim was shot in the chest, while a third suffered a gunshot wound to the leg. The female victim suffered an injury to her leg as well.

According to the DCPI, the shooting occurred at 10:15 p.m. in the green room area on the third floor of the venue. Rappers Maino and Uncle Murda, who were set to open for the 35-year-old rapper, were performing on stage when shots were fired.

Attendees at the concert took to social media to share scenes from the harrowing incident, including a photo of police responding to the shooting with their weapons drawn.

Another concert goer shared video from the moments after the shooting, showing the panic and chaos in the crowded venue as people rushed to the exits and to safety.

Ambulances were on the scene and the street was shut down around the venue while on-lookers tried to get a glimpse at what had happened.

Authorities stated in a press conference held hours after the incident that they are "not in a position to provide any description at this time of the possible suspects and no one is in custody." However, investigators have "recovered ballistic evidence and the crime scene search is continuing at this time."
