Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively Went on a Double Date With Other People and Fell Madly in Love With Each Other

Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively have a chemistry that is kaboom.
Together since 2011, we’re just now finding out how the parents of girl-with-the-boy-name James got together. It was the Canadian actor, 39, who shared the story, which is better than any meet cute story we can think of.
“About a year after Green Lantern had come and gone and we were both single, we went on a double date — she was on a date with another guy and I was on a date with another girl — and it was like the most awkward date for the respective parties because we were just like fireworks coming across,” Reynolds, who split from first wife Scarlett Johansson in 2010, said on SiriusXM’s Entertainment Weekly Radio Deadpool special, which airs Friday.
Their friendship — and later romance — was the best thing that came out of their widely-panned 2011 superhero flick.
“We were buddies for a long time, which I think is the best way to have a relationship, to start as friends,” Reynolds gushed.

The twosome, who tied the knot at Boone Hall Plantation in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, in September 2012 but never shared their wedding photos (of themselves anyway), rarely divulge details about their relationship or showcase it, but maybe things are changing. In addition to this rare glimpse into their hookup, the duo, who reside outside of NYC in Bedford, New York, have made not one but two red carpet appearances together this week.
On Wednesday, they were all aglow at the amfAR New York Gala at Cipriani Wall Street. They were holding hands while being all whispery and sweet. Two days earlier, they were just as sparkly and shiny at a Deadpool fan event at AMC Empire Theatre in Manhattan. These were their first appearances since they became parents — more than 13 months ago.
It seems like Ryan and Blake are no longer worried about jinxing things between them and they shouldn’t. After all, their chemistry is fireworks strong.
