Rory Feek Shares Sweet Video of Late Wife Joey With Daughter Indiana 6 Months After Her Death

Rory Feek lost his wife, Joey, to cervical cancer in March, but a piece of her will always live on through the couple’s 2-year-old daughter, Indiana. On Tuesday, the country singer shared a video on his blog of some sweet moments between Indy and her mother. The proud dad also penned a heartfelt tribute to his little girl, who was born with Down syndrome.

“She is the smile on the face of a father who should be crying. She is the joy in the life of a family that should be filled with sadness,” he wrote.

Rory recalled that family and friends would share their condolences when they learned of Indy’s diagnosis. “That’s such a strange response to the birth of a child,” he said. “It’s what society has told them — told all of us … aw, you didn’t get a regular baby … you got something less … a burden that will last a lifetime. And I get it. That’s the messaging that is out there most I think. But it’s wrong … God doesn’t make mistakes.”
