Robert Pattinson and FKA twigs Haven't Drifted Apart After All (Yet, Anyway)

There’s no trouble in this paradise! On Thursday, Robert Pattinson stepped out for a date night with fiancée, FKA twigs — and he looked more smitten than ever. The well-dressed pair hit up the 8th Annual GO Campaign Gala in Beverly Hills, where they socialized and rubbed elbows with famous pals including Katy Perry, who was conveniently seated at their table. (Pattinson became an ambassador for the nonprofit organization, which works to aid orphans and vulnerable children worldwide, earlier this year.)

Topping off the glam night, Pattinson and Twigs even won a lavish getaway in the auction: He spent $8,500 on a Peruvian adventure for two. Honeymoon, anyone?! Though Perry was there solo, don’t feel too badly for her. She nabbed a Mexican dinner for 50 guests worth $5,500.
The Twilight alum seemed to be in truly great spirits as he hammed it up for photogs on the red carpet with the 27-year-old singer-songwriter by his side. Though his fiancée opted for an undoubtedly elegant look for the evening, she seemed to appreciate his goofy side as everyone else. Pattinson made funny faces at her and she smiled right back. That’s love, you guys.

Once inside, Pattinson was “transfixed” and “totally smitten” with his future bride, Us Weekly reported, noting that the 29-year-old actor even held twigs’s hand tightly beneath the table during part of the meal. Basically, they looked ridiculously happy together.
This evening out comes just over two months after People reported that the couple — who got engaged this past April after a mere six months of dating — had drifted apart, and that while they had not officially called off the engagement, their wedding was “off the agenda” (which sounds pretty ominous to us). The source claimed distance was to blame—Pattinson was in Ireland filming The Lost City of Z for Brad Pitt’s production company, while twigs had stayed behind in the U.S.

“They’ve definitely drifted and have barely spoken while he’s in Belfast and she’s been in the States,” the source said. What’s more, while he was away, she reportedly spent lots of time hanging with a group of friends of which her fiancé is allegedly not a fan. “Rob has never been at ease with twigs’s entourage,” the source claimed before also pointing out that Rob’s schedule would next move him to Colombia in October (meaning they wouldn’t be reunited anytime soon). The filming “is bound to create further distance between them,” the source predicted.
But it looks like they found a way to sneak in some quality time between Pattinson’s international stints, and judging from their lovey-dovey showing last night, all is well between them… at least for now.
