Real Housewives of New York City's Jules Wainstein Set to Divorce Husband Michael Over Alleged Cheating

Jules Wainstein's marriage is coming to an end.

The Real Housewives of New York City star is divorcing her husband Michael Wainstein, a rep for Jules confirms to PEOPLE.

The cause for the split was cheating and Jules was blindsided, the rep added.

"Jules and her husband have split over his infidelity," the rep tells PEOPLE. "In last night's episode there were signs."

Added the rep: "Jules is doing great despite the news. She is taking care of her children and working hard on her brand, Modern Alkeme. She is a survivor and has many people around her for support."

Jules, 35, and Michael, an investment banker, have been married for eight years and share two children together: son Jagger, 8, and daughter Rio, 5.

On this season's premiere episode, which marked Jules' debut on the hit Bravo reality show, she revealed the two met when Jules was 24 years old, standing outside of a French bistro in New York City.

Just three weeks later, the two were living together and got engaged after a year and a half.

Jules' relationship with Michael has been featured on RHONY this season, including the duo's search for a new nanny.

Jules has not yet commented on the split on social media, though on Wednesday's episode, signs of their troubled marriage emerged as Jules complained about Michael's tendency to always be on his phone and expressed she felt he didn't help out with the kids enough.

On Wednesday, Jules' costar Ramona Singer weighed in on the split, telling E! News she's "very saddened for Jules."

"I know her heart's broken," said Singer, 59. "She's doing as well as she can in the situation and her priority – because she is such a great mother – are her two children."

She added, "I think Jules was totally shocked by what happened and was very disappointed and it's sad. It's just very sad. I've already spoken a number of times with her and I plan to meet with her and just be there to support her in any way I can."

Costar Sonja Morgan also spoke out about the news on Wednesday's Watch What Happens Live.

"I am very surprised," said Morgan, 52. "I did speak with Jules, it's kind of devastating. They're pretty discreet people, it's hard to take in."

The last picture Jules shared of Michael on Instagram was a family photo 16 weeks ago, celebrating Rio's birthday.

"Happy bday to the most wonderful delicious scrumptious beautiful amazing LIGHT of my LIFE little girl in the world," she gushed. "We [love] [you] Rio more than anything!!!"

The Real Housewives of New York City airs Wednesdays (9 p.m. ET) on Bravo.
