Raven-Symoné Set to Reprise Role in That’s So Raven Spin-Off — and She’s Leaving The View!

Oh snap!

Raven-Symoné is saying goodbye to her hosting duties on The View — but will be reprising her role of Raven Baxter on a That’s So Raven spin-off!

Though the 30-year-old child actress will be leaving her post on the ABC talk show later this year, she is partnering with the Disney Channel to develop a family sitcom that will continue the story of her That’s So Raven character for a new generation of audiences, the Disney Channel announced Thursday.

Raven, who was the first African-American woman to have her name in a comedy series title, is set to reprise her role and also executive-produce the untitled spin-off, which is beginning preliminary casting.

In the upcoming sitcom, Raven will play a divorced mother to two pre-teen children, — a son and daughter — one of whom has inherited her ability to catch glimpses of the future.

“Raven’s brilliant style of fearless comedy was a driving force for Disney Channel’s success around the world. Her performance in That’s So Raven is timeless,” Adam Bonnett, executive vice president, original programming, Disney Channels Worldwide, said in a statement. “We now have our eyes on the future with her, and we’re looking forward to telling more stories for a new generation with an adult Raven Baxter raising her young family.”
