Rachel Zoe on Opening Her Life Up to Family: 'Skylar Was Like a Happy Accident'
No one makes work, marriage, and motherhood look as fashionable as Rachel Zoe. The 44-year-old is killing it as a famed celebrity stylist, designer, and host of the new Lifetime show Fashionably Late, all the while balancing her marriage to hubby Roger Berman, who she met back in 1991, and raising her two boys, Skylar, 4, and Kaius, 22 months.
While the fashionista says she always knew she wanted to be a mom, finding the right time while being so immersed in her career was difficult. The Insider With Yahoo correspondent Keltie Knight caught up with Rachel at her “Live the Look” event in Costa Mesa on Thursday, where she opened up about starting her adorable family.
“Skylar was like a happy accident,” Zoe said of her first born. “You know, it wasn’t a very planned thing, and of course after I had him I was like ‘I want 5 more,' you know?” She continued, “I was like, 'I want 5 kids under 5.’ I would take like 10 babies at all times."
While the Lifetime host says, "it’s a struggle every day” to juggle career and parenthood, her best advice is to “be present” when with your children.
