"Sleep Dealer" Los Angeles Premiere
Lee Thompson Young transitioned from a child star, appearing as the title character in Disney Channel's "The Famous Jett Jackson," to a prime-time player, portraying detective Barry Frost opposite Angie Harmon in "Rizzoli & Isles." In between, he had several roles on TV ("FlashForward," "The Guardian," "Scrubs") and in movies ("Friday Night Lights," "Akeelah and the Bee"). He also took time from his projects to graduate (with honors!) from the University of Southern California. Young was found dead on August 19 at his Los Angeles home after failing to report to the set of his TNT police drama. Police confirmed to "omg! Insider" that it was an apparent suicide by gunshot, which was corroborated by his rep. “It is with great sadness that I announce that Lee Thompson Young tragically took his own life," said the spokesperson. "Lee was more than just a brilliant young actor, he was a wonderful and gentle soul who will be truly missed." He was 29.
