Ned Wertimer had more than 100 TV credits to his name, but he was best known for his role as Ralph the doorman on “The Jeffersons,” which ran from 1975 to 1985. Some of the other shows he appeared on include “Mork & Mindy,” “WKRP in Cincinnati,” and “Gun Smoke.” Wertimer’s acting work wasn’t limited to the small screen. He appeared in several movies as well – his final flick was 2007’s “Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End.” Wertimer died on January 2 at a Los Angeles area nursing facility, where he had been living after taking a fall in his Burbank, California, home last November. He was 89.
