Law will take its own course, tells Mufti Mohammad Sayeed even as protest continues against Masarat Alam
Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed on Thursday said the law will take its own course even as demands surfaced for separatist leader Masarat Alam's arrest after he organized a pro-Pakistan rally in Jammu and Kashmir. Meanwhile, the Shiv Sena targeted its Maharashtra alliance partner BJP, saying it was the latter's duty to take action over the issue. On Wednesday, Alam sparked a fresh controversy by raising anti-India slogans to greet separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani. The incident led to widespread criticism over Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed's move to release Alam, a political prisoner, from the Baramulla prison, as there were no criminal charges against him.
