Richard Lynch

As a young actor, Richard Lynch cheated death when he set himself on fire – while on drugs – in Manhattan’s Central Park at the age of 30. As he recovered, he also kicked his drug habit, and discovered a new passion for life and his acting career. He went on to have a colorful career, often playing bad guys, in movies including 1982’s “The Sword and the Sorcerer,” 1988’s “Bad Dreams,” and the 2007 “Halloween” remake. He was also known for his roles in sci-fi shows, among them “Battlestar Galactica” and its sequel “Galactica 1980.” Lynch passed away at his Palm Springs, California, home and was discovered by a friend on June 19. He was 72.
