Adam Yauch

Adam "MCA" Yauch, one of the founding members of the Beasties Boys, died on May 4. He was 47. Known for creating iPod staples including "Fight for Your Right" and "Make Some Noise," he later became a Buddhist and was known for his work as an advocate for Tibetan independence, organizing benefits for the cause. He also had a passion for filmmaking and founded Oscilloscope Laboratories, which released his directorial debut, the 2008 basketball documentary "Gunnin' For That #1 Spot."
